Dewdrops left behind gracing tiny petals
Floating in pools of looking-glass water,
Freshly created by an on-going shower.
Blossoms of perfect pink,
The same shade as her toenails;

On this brilliant day, two walk alone.
The world rotates at perfect pace, as
Hearts beat faster and emotions shine through.
The tender shade of his heart is
A tint he only shows to her.

They embrace as only people in love may,
Caught up in their enchanting emotions;
The world is a witness to their longing.
And all at once, they do the one thing
Most predictable;

They kiss…

And suddenly the world stops spinning.
Everything is silent for
One single second.
All eyes are on them.
The rain stops in mid-air,

Waiting for a signal,
Contemplating their next move…
She leaves his side as
The rain begins again,
Now only a soft sprinkle.

Once again everything is in motion,
And life dances on,
Forever remembering
Their last kiss,
Their last act of affection.

Their only goodbye.

Author's Comments

A somewhat sappy poem that I was inspired to write after seeing ~ gleapsite and ~wide-asleep kiss.

"It's amazing how much emotion is in people's faces when they kiss. It should be one of the Seven Wonders of the World." - A spur of the moment though I wrote a while back

well. before i go about senselessly spewing forth praise for this i have to say a few things.

first, i'll give you a little praise to start off this comment. those are some god aweful good looking legs. whose are they? oh wait...

secondly i'll delve into the things that are wrong. the last line is jarring to me.. you've known me how long? and you've never picked up on my philosophy, my way of life, of never saying goodbye? you know even that day, the last day I'll ever see emoleah i didn't say goodbye.

thirdly i'll get to the senseless praise. I like the rain. its a nice addition... and i don't know why but i get this spinning feel... where every thing just stops and the camera is spinning around the two kissing (around me and emoleah i guess). great imagry with the rain, it really sets the mood (though this may be spoiled by the fact that i'm remembering the day).

fourthly, i reread it. and now looking at it you said 'Their only goodbye.' so scratch my point number two. only... not. because you imply a goodbye, wich i am still against.

lastly, i miss emoleah. umm... very good work on this, and those pictures you sent me are so sad. to bad they didn't turn out better.

Face the world with eyes of fire,
and burn it all to ash.

"The world rotates at perfect pace" good line.
I like how the rain wasn't as much after the kiss, and the imagery in the first stanza.

It may be sappy and Cleche'et but none the less romantic, and completely amazingly written, I must face this :) (Smile)

Some lovely imagery in this, almost metaphorical I guess. As I don't know the people involved in the kiss I can't really comment on some of the deeper layers in this, however, on the surface it's beautifully written, and lovely to read.
Well done!

And you shall shed tears of scarlet

Here is a boy with paper skin, who longs to touch the girl of broken glass, she loves it when he wears his skin like that, In tatters
:iconastercrow:
I love the way you make the world seem to know that pure love is ever more important than it's own existance at that precious moment in time. A great way to show how powerful true emotions can be, especially in a situation where the two know it will be their last embrace. The words you used could not be asslembled any better. And as far as the "goodbye" in the end, it helps close the poem with a bittersweet emotion, even if that word is against what he feels. Nicely done.
